Gaining perspective

A few months ago, my husband and I took a few days away from the busy city to spend some time out in the fresh country air of North West NSW. Leading up to this weekend, life had been crazy busy and we had both been stuck in the daily grind - forgetting why we moved back to Australia in the first place (work life balance!). We found solace in little slice of heaven - Owl Lodge. There were no supermarkets, movie theatres, bowling alleys, WIFI, or anything we usually spend time occupying ourselves with. All were the endless views of suntanned grass covering acres of land as far as the eye can see. The best part of travelling out to the Mudgee region is the variety of beautiful wineries and cheese factories that were a 20-minute drive from our accomodation. We spent our Saturday slowly wandering cellar doors, breweries and cheese factories.

We came away from the weekend feeling refreshed, calm and energised. It was just the escape needed to gain a little bit of perspective on how we should all take time out of a busy life to enjoy a little bit of peace and quiet!
